Brewers of Fine, Prize Winning Real Ales

A List of all Beowulf's Real Ales

with tempting descriptions

BEERS FOR
ALL FOUR SEASONS

BEORMA (ABV 3.9%) has all the characteristics of the perfect session ale.  This beer is wonderfully balanced with its malty hint of fruit giving wat to a delightful lingering bitterness.

NOBLE BITTER (ABV 4.0%) is very bitter, very dry and very drinkable

WIGLAF (ABV 4.3) is a traditional, golden, bitter.  It has a malty flavour that is married to a particularly pleasing bitterness bursting forth from the three hop varieties used.

CHASEWATER (ABV 4.4%) is a pale bitter with a traditional hoppy flavour and a lingering bitterness.  Craft brewed in celebration of The Beowulf Brewing Company's relocation to the shores of
Chasewater.

SWORDSMAN (ABV 4.5%) is a bitter beer of fruit and citrus.  This beer is pale dry and crisp and explodes with taste and aroma.

DARK RAVEN (ABV 4.5%) a traditional, flavourful mild.

FINN'S HALL PORTER (ABV 4.7%) is a fitting tribute to Finn a character famed for his hospitality brought to life in the story of Beowulf.  Our porter is as it should be: inviting, dark, and smoky, hoppy and not too sweet.  The kind of ale that invites one to linger

MERCIAN SHINE (ABV 5.0%) is a pale bitter with a fresh, hoppy abd fruity aroma and a dry finish.  Its bitternes dances on the palate.

HEROES BITTER (ABV 4.7%) holds the crown as The Beowulf Brewing Company's signature ale.  It was the first beer produced in 1996.  "Heroes" is nutty, golden and hoppy with a slight hint of sweetness.

DRAGON SMOKE STOUT (ABV 4.7%) is really bitter and black.  Dark malts and roasted barley combine to produce smouldering "chocolate" flavour followed by a mouth embracing bitterness.  This is the webmaster's favourite and receives her full endorsement.
WONDERFUL BEERS FOR SPRING AND SUMMER

WERGILD (ABV 4.3%) is a cask conditioned lager ~still a rarity amongst real ales.  This ia a skilful, continental mixture of bitterness and fruit.

WUFFA (ABV 4.5%) is a golden, pale beer boasting a tremendous creaminess which marries ingeniously with its flowery bitterness.

GOLD WORK (ABV5.1%) is another relative rarity in the real ale world ~ a clear whet beer.  This is a brilliantly astringent beer as a true wheat beer should be and in pulls off a real "double whammie" having a powerful continental bitterness as well.

BEERS FINELY SUITED TO
BLUSTERY AUTUMNS
& COLD WINTERS

HURRICANE (ABV 4.0%) is a dark quaffing beer. It is enjoyably frity with a fabulous floral aroma.

GLUTLUSTY (ABV 4.5%) is a dark, golden-amber autumn ale.  It isn't too dry and leaves a pleasant, lingering bitterness in the mouth.

COUSIN KELPIE (abv 4.5%) is a warm, amber beer with plenty of gusto and an enjoyable, prolonged aftertaste.

BLIZZARD (ABV 5%) is wholesome, strong and dark.  It bursts with character, smoke and hops leaving a superbly dry and bitter finish.

GRENDEL'S WINTER ALE (ABV 5.8%) is monstrously robust and full-bodied.  Itt is dry hopped and bursting with flavour.  By design this is an ale that is only available when it is freezing cold . . . or Christmas!
